Biography
Originally from Baltimore, Dr. Scott Bowerman completed his undergraduate training at Emory University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in both chemistry and psychology with a minor in Spanish. He then received his medical degree from Mercer University School of Medicine in 1991 where he graduated with honors and was inducted into the AOA Medical Honor Society. Following medical school Dr. Bowerman completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Vanderbilt University in 1996 where he served as Chief Resident. He began his practice in Rome in 1996.
Dr. Bowerman focuses mainly on joint replacement of the hip and knee as well as general orthopaedics. His training includes the latest in mobile bearing technology and advancements in total joint replacement. Dr. Bowerman is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is also a member of the Medical Association of Georgia, the Georgia Orthopaedic Society and the Southern Orthopaedic Society. He currently resides in Rome and enjoys spending time with his wife Tiffany and 3 children, Brielle, Brenden and Will.
For more than 20 years of practice, he has been dedicated to providing the highest level of orthopaedic care to his patients. He continues to research the latest improvements in orthopaedics, specializing in joint replacement surgery of the knee and hip. “It is rewarding to see my patients experience excellent results in pain relief and restoration of joint function following joint replacement surgery.
