Biography

Dr. Megan Lameka spent her early childhood living in various locations due to her father’s military career but eventually settled in her parents’ local hometown of Cedartown, Georgia. She then received her Bachelor of Science from Shorter University where she graduated summa cum laude.

She earned her medical degree from Medical College of Georgia where she received four scholarships for academic merit and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society as a Junior. She then went on to complete her Orthopedic Surgery Residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Medical Center where she was a Resident Scholar for the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society. After finishing residency, Dr. Lameka moved back to Georgia to further specialize in Foot and Ankle surgery, completing a Foot and Ankle fellowship at Emory University.

Dr. Lameka focuses on diagnosing and treating all problems related to the different structures in the Foot and Ankle including arthritis, fractures and sprains, Achilles injuries, bunions, hammertoes, athletic injuries, and cartilage pathologies. She has trained in arthroscopic surgery of the ankle as well as total ankle replacements.

Dr. Lameka and her middle school sweetheart, Hayden reside in Rome with their son James.
